3DSand&Balls

3D Sand gives a mat appearance to your artwork.

Always mix 3D Sand with a medium. Either Powertex or an acrylic binder. You can also mix it with Easycoat mat or glossy. Once mixed, you can apply it to yourcanvas with a palette knife or brush. If you want an extra matte effect, sprinkle Sand on it and remove the excess when everything has dried. You can also sprinkle the 3D Sand directly into the wet Powertex. You can perfectly mix 3D Sand with Easy structure for a “heavy structure”. Please note that everything dries much faster if you add sand. Be sure to try it with Easy3DFlex, but only if you want less crackle. By adding Sand, all your Artwork gets a matte appearance.

Sequence in use of 3DBalls

Spread a prime coat on your canvas with Powertex using a large pallet knife. Create structure, color, and composition with all kind of products. Add the 3D Balls in the final phase of a painting, that is easier. It is difficult to work with a pallet knife, once the large 3D balls are added. If you want to make a painting with 3D Sand & Balls, always start by sprinkling the largest balls in the wet Powertex. Then the medium size balls, the small ones and only then the 3D Sand. . Spray different colors of bister or Liquid Power on it. These liquids will get partially absorbed by the balls and the sand. You will be amazed by the beautiful result. Tap the bottom of your canvas (like on a drum) to make the Sand and the balls adhere better.
